Apply QUARTZ PRIMER on the surface that was previously treated with OptiGrund D11 or TiefGrund ELF™ primer (Fig. 1). Wait until it’s completely dry.
Prepare CORROSIA RUST and/or CORROSIA PATINA for application: pour water into an empty plastic container in the amount of 30-35% of the water comparing to the total dry weight of the product. Add the dry mixture of the product to the water and stir it thoroughly with a mixer until smooth. We recommend adding a small amount of CORROSIA ACTIVATOR to a container with the prepared product (in the amount of ~2.5 ml per 1 kg of the dry mixture) to get a more uniform oxidation reaction and stir it again.
NOTE: It is recommended to apply the product immediately after dilution with water. It is also allowed to apply the product after a while (up to 48 hours after dilution with water) to obtain a more saturated oxidation effect.
IMPORTANT: Storage of the diluted mass should be done in a hermetically sealed container in a dark, dry place at a temperature of about +20°C. Under improper storage conditions the product will become unsuitable for application.
It is also recommended to mix the entire required volume of CORROSIA in one container before application in the case of applying the product to a larger area than can be obtained by the standard product packaging to avoid joints.
Apply the material to the surface in 1 layer using any convenient paint tool: a stainless steel plastering trowel, a brush or a roller, depending on the desired effect and texture (Fig. 2).
Apply CORROSIA ACTIVATOR on the surface immediately after applying RUST base or PATINA base by spraying it (fig. 3) and spread the activator evenly over the surface using stainless steel plastering trowel. We recommend re-spraying CORROSIA ACTIVATOR over the entire surface or partially in 30-40 minutes if you want to get a more intense effect. Wait until the surface is completely dry (48 hours).
It is recommended to use VINTAGE velatura as a protective layer: apply it with a brush or a roller (Fig. 4) and wait until it is completely dry. Complete surface stabilization comes up in 21 days.
It is also possible to obtain a complex multilayer effect of CORROSIA by applying CORROSIA RUST and CORROSIA PATINA sequentially on each other using VINTAGE velatura as a barrier between the bases.
